Normative versus Deviant Behaviors

My good friend and tireless gun rights ally Dr. Edgar A. Suter weighs in on the execrable and instantly infamous "Everybody Must Get Armed" SF Chronicle article, in a follow-on to Dale Seago's commentary. Reprinted here with Ed's permission is his letter to the paper:

"Normative v. Deviant Behaviors

That approximately half of US households own guns (and that individual membership in gun rights organizations exceeds gun prohibitionist membership by 6-fold) suggests that gun ownership and self-defense are normative behaviors. Especially in view of the fact that one-third billion people died at the hands of governments in the twentieth century, dwarfing all manner of private crime, divesting oneself of useful tools of self-defense is quite a regressive, pathological, and anti-evolutionary step.

Luckily, your discredited Freudian rant (not the first time your manic and rabid style has provoked a derisive belly laugh) is lost on a crowd already lost to the hapless left's perseverance in a tested and failed agenda.

May God be with you,
