I'd not heard of this guy before today, but a number of friends whom I deeply respect are throwing their support for Michael Badnarik, who is working to become the Libertarian Party's 2004 candidate for the U.S. presidency. See his blog too, in order to make up your own mind.
I do know Michael Badnarik and his nomination would be a disaster to any LP member who believe the party should nominate candidates who are palatable to the mainstream (while of course still supporting the LP platform). A candidate who likes to tell about how he refuses to buy license plates because he is a sovereign citizen of Texas has no chance to be viewed as anything but a kook.
