ZipLip secure email services

On a recommendation of Michael Reed of Portland, I've decided to test the web-based email service ZipLip as an alternative to Hushmail, which I've found unsatisfactory over the last year due to scaling-related performance issues. According to ZipLip:

We are the fastest-growing secure email provider on the Web and strive each day to provide the best possible services for our users. With secure email, secure net storage, and secure file delivery, our goal is to provide the most comprehensive services for protecting your security, privacy, and email rights.

Have any of readers had experience with ZipLip? Your opinions are most welcome; please post them here.

I found ziplip email ok at the start, but I soon got problems (which are still here) with my ziplip email. One of these is erroneous information displayed at the startup screen of my ziplip email. for e.g., I may be told that I have 9 messages in my Inbox even if I don't have any message in my Inbox. I may also be told that I have 0 unread messages in my inbox, while, when I check my inbox, I find that I have got new messages. The thing is that one can no longer trust the information displayed on the screen after one logs into his ziplip email, but rather has to waste time going to his inbox or other folders subjected to email rules to see whether he has received new messages.

Ziplip also used to be my best and number 1 e-mail provider: very fast and reliable.

Lately, though, it has become very unreliable. I send mail and nothing happens: it stays a draft in my draft box and goes nowhere. I try to save a draft with changes and the changes are lost - even 30 minutes' work.

Customer support is non-existent. I send a message of complaint and they ignore it. I think they're more into million dollar "solutions" for big companies. E-mail customers can get f... Of course, mine is free mail: maybe the paid subscribers at least get an answer.

Russell,

Alas, as of early August, I, too, have found
ziplip to be totally flaky. A complete 180 from
their previous performance. Deeply weird.

I have been using Ziplip free email service for the past two years and have been very much assured of safety and its quick mailing services, email notification, mail box enforcer notification etc. However, I hear that Ziplip is going to close down its free service. I would like to open a paid account. Please help! Thanks
