I'm not the first to have said this

After a 2nd major round of revision on my 2003 tax paperwork (the 1st preparer was, well, not entirely prepared for me), I've managed to squeeze several hundred dollars more deductions from a pile of receipts and am re-submitting to another preparer tomorrow. I can relax now, a bit.

I do wish that presidential election days - for that matter, all election days - were fixed to the 16th of April.

I'm a tax preparer. How a libertarian became the tax guy is a long story, but I have ceased to be amazed at the shoddy work new clients bring me from previous years. I can usually get them more money with an amended return.
Doing taxes is easy, it's the interview process that requires skill and no mook from Amscot is gonna bother with that.
Have you seen those articles on how to pick a tax preparer? By their standards no one should ever come to me. I have no credentials, I hate the gov, I hate taxes, I smoke in my office, I pop the first beer around three, I fire clients who piss me off or lie to me and I have more clients than I can handle. Personal service, long hours and taking payment in fish are the secrets of my success. Loafing and sailing for 6 months a year are my rewards. Ain't the free market great?

Dick, you sound like someone I would have sought out if I'd known about you. By the way, the URL you posted - http://Taxmajik.com/ - must be brand new, since the DNS doesn't seem to have propagated it yet. Is it new, or did you misspell it?
