My dad was a dentist in the old Commercial building. Now my children, as they have children of their own, are interested in Alton's history. We now live in St. Charles. I am trying to find the website for pictures of downtown Alton at the turn of the century--I've forgotten the name of the site that was very interesting!

I noticed your post and wondered if the teacher might be your mom. There are no names on the picture, but I would be happy to scan it and send it to you.
