If you've ever been exposed to this question, you'll consider it trivial, but I'm wondering which of my readers will get this first:
What is the only function in all of calculus that is its own derivative?
Posted by Russell Whitaker at July 15, 2004 09:19 AM | TrackBackThat would be Euler's number.
I'm not sure that I would classify that as "trivia" though.
Posted by: J. Andrew Rogers on July 15, 2004 10:16 AMErrr, more accurately, the exponential function. Six of one, half dozen of the other.
Posted by: J. Andrew Rogers on July 15, 2004 10:17 AMBingo. Of course it's not "trivia", it's one of the most important - if the _the_ most important - functions in math.
I was expecting Anton Sherwood to pipe in first, but I'm delighted to see you chime in, James.
Posted by: Russell Whitaker on July 15, 2004 10:47 AMSorry, my bus was late.
Posted by: Anton Sherwood on July 17, 2004 07:29 PMI think that is Advanced Chemistry or something cuz it DEFINITELY doesn't make sense to me!
