Someone, some months ago, recommended to me that I rent and view the 1950 Jimmy Stewart western flick " Winchester '73." I did rent it, and watched it tonight, courtesy of Netflix. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a number of interesting surprises, not the least of which was a young Rock Hudson in a minor role, the plains Indian chief "Young Bull."

I remember watching this movie with my Dad when I was a kid, and my surprise when he told me that he had a Winchester '73. I remember holding it while watching the movie, and thinking how strong Jimmy Stewart must have been to shoot with something so HEAVY.

It has become one of my favorite westerns, along side the excellent flick, The Professionals, with Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Woody Strode, Jack Palance, and the incredibly hot Claudia Cardinale. What a great movie.
