I'm a big believer in getting out of town on spring break:

Hey!!!
Looks to me like you've got a Ming garrison soldier's view of things when he's making his rounds as a sentry.
I trust you will be taking many more pics? And posting 'em?
Look forward to hearing all about it.
Have a safe trip back.
Posted by: Mark Quon on April 1, 2005 01:19 PMHey Mark, you're right: it's a section of the
Great Wall, at Mutianyu, a much less touristy
section than the one at Badaling.
I've got many more pics, which I'll be posting
after I return (leaving in an hour).
The ultimate loogie spot, I'm guessing. Hock one on the Hordes :)

Have you heard of Charlie Stross's ascendance?

Hey there Terry. I heard about Charlie's book, haven't picked up a copy yet.
I'm back from Beijing. I have about 1600 photos I took with my Sony CyberShot, my Olympus E-1, and my Treo 650 cameraphone (each one used under conditions best suited to it), which I'm perusing in a coffee shop in San Francisco. I'll post up a few today.
