The Surefire G2 Nitrolon high-output flashlight

This last weekend, I bought a Surefire G2 Nitrolon high-output flashlight at a Reno gun show, about $35. It's a very good alternative to the more expensive, earlier metal version, the Surefire 6P. For those of my friends who are getting into defensive pistolcraft for the first time - and who have budget constraints - I recommend this lightweight version.

+1 for these lights.

I especially like the yellow body color for survival kits.

A real bargain and they seem to hold up as well as the more expensive Surefire lights.

I picked up a G2 about 6-8 months ago and I love it. For the money it's a great light, just wish it had a button end cap instead of the momentary on/screw cap it has :)

Russell,

Thanks for the review. It seems that SureFire is offering more light for their money these days. In fact, I'm on their e-mail list and just received an e-mail explaining all of the new improvements...amazingly, they're not raising prices on new and improved lights. Do you agree? (if you'd like me to forward the e-mails to you, please let me know)

For $35 thats thats not bad, but I'm sure I came across an LED version of it once. I assume it would outperform the incandescent version you have but it may cost more...
