A new online bookseller recommended by a member of my extropians mailing list: "Bill of Rights Press," for those hard-to-find titles that Laissez-Faire Books won't carry.

Bill Of Rights Press was kind enough to very brazenly and uncaringly rip me off to the tune of a month's worth of groceries. I failed to appreciate it. I spent eight months cordially attempting to get a reply from them. After one tentative response that pointed out their error, I never got another. I would suggest finding your books elsewhere.
I posted this original link to Bill of Rights Press a couple of years ago on someone else's say-so, but never used them myself, and completely forgot about it until now. I see they're still in business. J. Allyn, do you want to recount in detail exactly what happened to you?
I ordered a book from Bill of Rights Press on May 11, 2007. My credit card was charged the next day, but five weeks later I still have not received the book. I've sent 4-5 emails and left two phone messages, but have yet to get a response from them.
I caution others to shop elsewhere!
Great. It has been 10 days now and I still haven't received my books. I sent 2 e-mails and left a message and tried calling about half a dozen times.
I'm contacting paypal to get my money back!
Same thing happened to me. Bought a book, 2 months later, nothing. They took my money and sent me nothing. Fortunately, PayPal is being pretty good about dealing with this, I suggest you call them up and file a dispute.
Apart from not returning any of MY phone calls or emails, apparently the folks who run this shop are not responding to PayPal, either, which is gonna get their PayPal license suspended mighty quick.
Apparently they're still at it... I ordered a book on 2007-09-27 and didn't hear anything from them at all... some other issues came up in my life and I almost forgot I had ordered the book. It's now been two months, still no response to any emails or telephone calls.
I just tried to get a refund through PayPal, and just learned that PayPay won't even talk about opening a dispute case if it's been more than 45 days. Shows what I get for being a nice guy and giving them (BoRP) the benefit of the doubt.
Also, the telephone number that PayPal lists in the "transaction details" is wrong. They list 970-224-6844, but the real number (at least a number which answers with a message saying "This is Jesse") is 970-227-6844.
And after a discussion with PayPal about filing a complaint against them- not a refund request, but a complaint which might get their "verified seller" status revoked- they explained that PayPal exists primary as a support structure for eBay, and that they don't offer ANY kind of protection or complaint procedure if the transaction didn't involve eBay.
So... not only watch out for these crooks, but watch out for PayPal as well.
Back in December, I ordered 2 books from these idiots, paid immediately with paypal, and never got anything. I have tried contacting them via email and voice mail 6-7 times, even called paypal and they said over 45 days no refund. This is a rip-off site and I am trying to warn others so they don't end up the same way.
