A few days ago I ordered an Ebisu/Yebisu beer at Tanto Japanese Restaurant (an izakaya) in Campbell, California, and was told by the waitress that it's now being sold under the label "Sapporo Reserve":

Now known as Sapporo Reserve...

Yes, that's a Japanese beer sold at a Japanese izakaya, served in the glass of a Korean competitor, Hite.

The fact that there is an isakaya in Campbell makes me so sad that I had to leave that area. My house used to be near Bascom and Hamilton, a wonderfully central location.

There's a Cambodian restaurant on the west side of Bascom, south of Hamilton, I don't remember the name. Wonderful. I went there many times with the local chapter of the Denizens of Doom.

I wonder if this is the same beer as Sapporo Black Label, sold in upperclass places in Japan, like the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. The best beer I know off, together with Sierra Navada.

Bohemia the best ber from BRazil!!! The Kaiser and Skol very good too
